Workaround to allow XM SendSecure Xerox ConnectKey MFP App users to finalize the scanning of their documents when the MFP is configured to prevent non logged-in users from accessing the scan job list.
If your Xerox ConnectKey MFP is configured to prevent non logged-in users from accessing the device's scan job list (restricted Job Status Pathway), users of the XM SendSecure App installed on this MFP may not be able to scan and fax their documents.
More precisely in this context, the App indefinitely waits for feedback from the device to finalize the scan process and an error is eventually displayed due to a timeout. This behavior occurs even if the users are logged in the MFP.
This article provides instructions to work around the above described issue by adjusting the MFP configuration – according to your Xerox MFP model.
Workaround for Xerox WorkCentre or AltaLink MFP Models
This workaround only applies to Xerox WorkCentre or AltaLink MFP Models. It is intended to allow open access to job information by the Printing Web Services (used by the XM SendSecure App), while non logged-in users are still prevented from accessing the device's scan job list.
Workaround for Xerox Versalink MFP Models
This workaround only applies to Xerox Versalink MFP Models. It is provided as a compromise that will simply hide the device's scan jobs to non logged-in users instead of restricting their access.
Access the configuration interface of the MFP using a Web
Enter http://<MFP_IP_Address> in the address field and log in using administrative credentials.
- From the main menu, select Permissions.
- In Guest Access, click Edit and select Device User Role.
- Under Control Panel Permissions, select Custom Permissions and click Setup.
- Click on Jobs and select Hide.
